Let’s Be Frank: Advisor Solutions
Frank has always been focused on solutions. Providing advisors with the answers, resources and support needed to keep moving forward is what makes NBC Securities a premier network for independent advisors and advisory firms. Let’s hear how Frank’s vision and values have influenced advisor support operations—direct from Doug Elder, NBC Securities’ National Sales Director:
Q. What do you believe sets NBC apart when it comes to supporting advisors in growing their businesses?
A: The fact that our infrastructure is entirely advisor-focused. We spend a great deal of time thinking about support—and that helps ensure we are timely, efficient, and responsive when getting advisors the resources they need to provide exemplary service to their own clients.
Q: How do values such as transparency & honesty impact your process?
A: Take the high road in every aspect of the business. When a mistake is made, for example, we take ownership immediately, communicate the mistake clearly to those impacted, and work to remediate the issues as quickly and efficiently as possible to get back on track. Being upfront about all news–both good and bad—goes a long way in building trust and rapport.
Q: How do you maintain open lines of communication with advisors, especially when working through complex or time-sensitive issues?
A: Be fair and quick with decisions. Everyone in the back office is available and prepared to discuss critical needs at all times. When issues are particularly complex, we utilize a consultative approach across all areas of management to be certain that all consequences of a decision are analyzed and considered.
Q: What are the main values that come into play?
A: A client-first, fiduciary mentality. Our mission is to help build legacies, and in order to accomplish this, we know we have to do what is right, not what is easy.
Q: How do you evaluate the success of a partnership with an advisor? What metrics or outcomes do you look for?
A: Relationships are more art than science. While it is difficult to measure in terms of metrics, we look closely at longevity, along with the strength of our partnership with the advisory council and the ease of communication with senior leaders.
Q: How do you incorporate elements of Frank’s personality/founding vision in your day-to-day?
