Lisa Sumpter
Born and raised in the same community where she continues to live and work, Lisa Sumpter has deep connections with her clients and neighbors. After beginning a career at a local bank while finishing an accounting degree, she was given the chance to explore financial services through a dual role offering banking products and fixed annuities. When the full-time financial professional at that location left, Lisa stepped into the role full-time—and never looked back. Inspired by the opportunity to provide clients with products and strategies that could truly improve their financial futures, she found her passion in wealth management.
Joining NBC Securities
Lisa began her career in 2000 with a large national bank and later joined First State Financial Management in 2007. When FSFM affiliated with NBC Securities in 2019 to address increasing regulatory complexities, Lisa seamlessly transitioned and has been proudly serving clients under the NBC/FSFM banner ever since.
Building a Practice
From the very beginning, Lisa built her business through community involvement, serving on boards, and forming relationships with centers of influence that became trusted sources of referrals. Over time, this dedication created a diverse practice that today serves clients from all walks of life, including individuals, families, and employer-sponsored retirement plans.
A Client-Centered Approach
At the core of Lisa’s practice is proactive, relationship-driven service. Leveraging tools like Circle Black, Redtail CRM, MoneyGuidePro, Addepar, and Nitrogen, she stays connected with clients through scheduled reviews, timely outreach during market volatility, and personalized financial planning. Most of her day is spent with clients in meetings or speaking to them on the phone. Each first meeting is designed to truly listen—asking questions, identifying goals, and showing the value of a customized financial plan.
Her unique background in accounting also allows her to bring a strong focus on tax efficiency—whether through investments or withdrawal strategies—helping clients optimize their long-term outcomes.
What Sets the Practice Apart
- Proactive Service: Regular reviews and timely market updates.
- Community Connection: Strong local involvement keeps relationships authentic and referrals flowing.
- Tax Efficiency Expertise: An accounting background without being a practicing accountant.
- Transparency: Addressing compensation upfront so clients can focus on planning.
When Lisa is not working with clients, she enjoys traveling, attending concerts and sporting events, volunteering, and discovering great food spots.
